Alex Wong/Getty Images(WASHINGTON) -- Barbara Walters is staying mum on the rumors that she's planning her retirement.
If she does step down from her full-time job with ABC News and The View sometime in the next few years, she'll be missed around the White House.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, first lady Michelle Obama calls Walters one of her favorite people.
She says Walters has "done the Christmas special here at the White House every year and it's always just a tremendous joy, as she tries to steal various items from the White House, but you know, it's Barbara. Barbara -- you can take what you want, whenever you want."
Would the first lady ever consider hosting a talk show once her husband, President Obama, leaves office in 2016?
It doesn't seem likely, but she says, "I have not had a moment to think about the next four years. This position is one of honor, but it is all consuming....What I do know is that I can’t predict anything. So, I can’t rule out anything or rule in anything, but I know that the president and I want to continue to serve in any way we can."
The first part of Entertainment Tonight's interview with Mrs. Obama aired Monday night. Part two airs Tuesday night.
